I'm glad your brother was able to enter the priesthood. In our case - if my parents and my friend's parents had thought there would be embarrassing repercussions they wouldn't have indulged their willfull 8 year old daughters. Looking at it now as an adult - I think it's amusing and a bit embarrssing of how silly I was ... but at 8 everyone does something in their life that's silly.

When he was nine and I was five, my brother "married" a neighbor girl in a very elaborate ceremony (which consisted mainly of running around her house several times) witnessed by all the other kids in the neighborhood.

This ceremony was likewise forgotten until my brother applied to enter the Jesuit seminary. When he was asked if he'd ever been married, he had to admit to the (non-binding) marriage! Fortunately, it was not an impediment to him entering the priesthood!
