The next meeting of the Liberty States Fiction Writers is on September 11th at the Edison Public Library on Plainfield Avenue.
Hank Phillipi Ryan will be speaking on using TV procedures in writing.
About the Presenter: Award-winning investigative reporter Hank Phillippi Ryan is on the air at Boston’s NBC affiliate. Her work has resulted in new laws, people sent to prison, homes removed from foreclosure, and millions of dollars in restitution. Along with her 26 EMMYs, Hank’s won dozens of other journalism honors. She’s been a radio reporter, a legislative aide in the United States Senate, and an editorial assistant at Rolling Stone Magazine. Her debut novels, PRIME TIME (Agatha Winner, double RITA© nominee and DAPHNE nominee) and FACE TIME (BookSense Notable Book and IMBA bestseller), were both best-sellers. Both were also re-issued this summer by MIRA Books. AIR TIME (also an IMBA bestseller) was called “First class entertainment” by bestselling author Sue Grafton. Hank’s latest book, DRIVE TIME was released in February.

Every month the Liberty States Fiction Writers will feature published authors who will share with you one of their latest releases and offer you the opportunity to purchase a signed copy of the featured release. Published authors will also have the opportunity to provide podcast interviews about their latest releases.
September’s Featured Authors are Hank Phillippi Ryan and P.K. Eden
Hank Phillippi Ryan’s debut novels, PRIME TIME (Agatha Winner, double RITA© nominee and DAPHNE nominee) and FACE TIME (BookSense Notable Book and IMBA bestseller), were both best-sellers. P. K. Eden is the alter ego of the writing duo of LSFW Members Patt Mihailoff and Kathye Quick. FIREBRAND, the winner of two Reviewers Choice Awards, has been heralded as a complex work of good and evil worthy of the Hobbit Series and Harry Potter and is their first collaboration. But it certainly won’t be the last.
2009 RWA/NYC Writer of the year Patt Mihailoff writes contemporaries, westerns, and historical romances, as well as anthologies for Zane’s Caramel Flava II and a C.N. Nesbitt’s powerful, A Dream Deferred Anthology from Streber Books/Simon and Schuster. Her first novel, Ring Dancer’s Destiny, was released in October 2007 with Cerridwen Press. Her first editor, Nathasha Brook-Harris, invited her to write for the Dorchester Media True Confession line of magazines, where she became a main stable writer, enjoying having published over one hundred stories for them.
Award winning author Kathye Quick writes contemporary and career romances for Avalon Books, romantic comedy and historical romance for Wings Press and historical romances for both The Wild Rose Press and Lyrical Press. Her fifth hardcover romance, ‘Tis The Season, a holiday romance complete with Santa Claus, a sleigh ride, and a New England snowfall, was a HOLT Medallion finalist. Sapphire, the second book in her Grandmother’s Rings Contemporary Series for Avalon was a National Readers Choice finalist.
