They say you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover, but studies show that the cover is one of the most important things that help sell and market your book. Join us for this workshop go David G. Stevenson who will discuss the various elements of effective cover design and discuss what you can do to improve the marketability of your book with your cover.

About the Presenter: David G. Stevenson is a visual artist involved in graphic design, photography, and fine art. Born in New Haven, Connecticut and raised in Delaware, he graduated from Syracuse University’s Newhouse School of Public Communications, and moved to New York City shortly afterwards. Following a stint in advertising, he moved into publishing, and is currently a senior art director and designer of book jackets for Penguin Random House. Authors he has created jackets for include George R. R. Martin, John Updike, John Irving, Michael Chabon, H.P. Lovecraft, China Miéville, Terry Brooks, Anne McCaffrey, Naomi Novik, Pierce Brown, Ray Bradbury, Isaac Asimov, and Josh Malerman. His freelance clients include Simon & Schuster, Harper Collins, Penguin Books, Pearson, Oxford University Press, Random House, and others.
